...what does the city government do? They shut down the CoViD-19 data reporting website for remodeling. They did the same thing a week ago. Then they added a new reporting feature for seven-day averages. It averaged the last seven entries in the dataset. However, since the data from a week ago Thursday was missing and the Friday data included the sums of the Thursday and Friday data, averaging the last seven entries was actually dividing eight days of data by seven, which wasn't the average of anything. Now local businesses that have been around for decades are going out of business because of decisions made by local politicians based on incorrect simple arithmetic. I seem to be the only one who thinks there needs to be any amount of accountability for bureaucratic incompetence.
