Why do car makers put a panic button on keyless remotes?

Why would I ever want a car to honk its horn incessantly? I really can't think of a more annoying "feature" car manufacturers could design into a car other than maybe metal spikes under the upholstery or razor blades on the steering wheel. I suppose I can cut a PCB trace or hot-air desolder the panic button switch itself. What I'd really like is a keyless remote with buttons that require at least five pounds of force to operate.
