Also, the warhead is behind the guidance package.

When the warhead is triggered, its proximity based and may not (*likely doesnt) actually make physical contact with the target. Hence, the warhead blasts the nose cone and guidance system off to fly on its own as the warhead flails out its projectile payload. At that point of triggering, the guidance package has done it's job.

That's why the seeker heads are found intact.
