I used to throw them in the oven first, now I just setup weber with cast iron grate hot/cool and run them on the cool side until they look/feel right, then move them to the hot side to finish. Mine gets about a minute a side or less, then back to cool side, the wifes gets 1.5min flip 1.5 flip 1.5. She is a modifying freak that insists on well done steak.
