It's spring powered so there's no CO2 cartridges to mess with. It's single pump-action, which kids might find cooler cooler than lever action (especially if all their friends have lever actions). It shoots up to 350 ft per second which is safe to shoot inside provided you have a few layers of heavy cardboard as a backstop. It holds 50 rounds in a spring loaded magazine, and the spring loaded magazine is much more reliable than the Red-Ryder style "shake and hope" type of magazine. It has a sight that you can flip between peep and open/iron that is also adjustable for windage and elevation. You can find them new for $40 or less.
