Just bought a Samsung "Smart" TV. Was able to neuter

a lot of the data-mining and intrusions via excellent instructions found on a Consumer Reports page on the subject.

BUT did its own search and found our WiFi, which the wife setup mainly to use her laptop anywhere in the house. Later we obtained a Roku "stick" to watch TV over the phone lines but it worked better on the WiFi as well. I don't use the WiFi at all even though my Blackberry initially wanted to. The desktop computer I use is direct telephone line with its own lengthy password.

What a world...
